    ZRP Bans Certain Weapons Amid Political Tensions

    The Zimbabwe Republic police has made a temporary two months ban on carrying weapons in Harare Central District .

    This restriction was issued by Chief Superintendent M. Masvivi effect from 27 March to 31 May 2025 under Section 13 of the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (Chapter 11:23).

    The areas which were barred include Mbare, Braeside, Marimba, Borrowdale, Churchill Road, Chikurubi Maximum Prison, and Robert Mugabe Airport. The ban applies to weapons such as machetes, axes, swords, knives, daggers, catapults, knobkerries, and any other traditional weapons that could be used to cause harm or public disorder.

    This have come after Blessed Geza has issued a protest on the 31st of March towards a new government . Yesterday Blessed Geza on social media encouraged people to be alert and some are already in panic mode

    Police have warned that anyone caught violating this order may face a fine of up to Level 5, imprisonment of up to six months, or both. Officers will be monitoring the situation closely to ensure compliance and maintain public safety.
