Business mogul Kudakwashe Tagwirei has once again injected funds into Zimbabwean football, donating US$100,000 to a group of former footballers and coaches affiliated with the ruling ZANU PF party, known as Former Footballers and Coaches for ED.

The donation was announced on Facebook by youth politician Taurai Kandishaya, who revealed that Tagwirei through his company, Sakunda Holdings, which currently sponsors Dynamos FC in a reported US$2.5 million three-year deal also pledged healthcare and additional benefits for the beneficiaries.

“In the spirit of President ED Mnangagwa’s vision, Dr. Kuda Tagwirei remembered former footballers and coaches of Zimbabwe,” Kandishaya posted. “They gathered on my farmland in Murehwa, where Comrade Tagwirei injected an inaugural US$100,000 for their upkeep and guaranteed healthcare, among other benefits.”

At the event, former Dynamos striker Evans Gwekwerere openly voiced his support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa, expressing confidence that the Head of State would remain in power until 2030, a slogan currently promotedwithin ZANU PF. Also present at the event were veterans of Zimbabwean footballers and coaches Sunday Chidzambwa and Brenna Msiska
