The ZANU PF Youth League has ushered in the new year with a resolute message reinforcing unity, discipline, and loyalty as non-negotiable pillars within the ruling party.

In a press statement reaffirmed its “unshakable loyalty” to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the party’s principles of “Unity, Peace and Development.”

The youth wing declared its focus for the year would be on “spreading love, strengthening unity and championing youth development and empowerment” as engines of national progress. It called on all members to move forward together, “leaving no one and no place behind.”

The statement struck a firm tone against internal division, asserting there is “absolutely no space for any form of divisive conduct” in ZANU PF. It warned that the “reckless use of hate speech, inflammatory statements and public grandstanding only breeds confusion, undermines discipline and weakens the unity of the Party.”

Echoing President Mnangagwa’s mantra, “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo” (A country is built by its owners), the League emphasized that Zimbabwe “cannot be built through hate speech, intolerance or disorder.” It aligned itself with the “politics of production and development” over “unproductive politics of insults, division and noise.”

Positioning itself as the “vanguard of the Party,” the Youth League pledged to remain “vigilant, resolute and unwavering in defending the Party, its Leadership and its revolutionary ethos,” stating it would not idly stand by if the party’s name and values are tarnished.
